Impressive and ancient Ekoï crest (Nigeria), representing an open-mouthed head showing teeth. It is entirely covered with several layers of leather and fixed on a woven basket. The forehead and temples show keloidal scarification. Important polychromy based on white, blue and purple. Collected by Jean Michel Huguenin (Majestic gallery in Paris) in the 70's when he brought back from his trip the first Mumuye statues . Height : 24,5 cm.
