Ancient Gurunsi mask (Burkina faso), and more precisely probably Nunuma. Entirely monoxyl, it is composed of an oval lower part surmounted by a "board" and a triangular geometric shape. These different parts are carved on the same plane and joined by two semicircles with in the middle probably a stylized and fetish bird. Beautiful polychromy (black, red and white) based on natural pigments. The two semicircles are patinated by use. Old Parisian collection. Height: 85 cm. Sold without base.
