Ancient Pare statuette (Tanzania), representing a standing figure in a very dynamic movement. The arms are not broken, but missing, the legs seem to be sketching a dance step, the face is very expressive, the mouth open, the eyes represented by beads. The legs, the torso and the neck are bound with cloth. A hole at the top of the back would have allowed for a magic charge to be placed. Dense wood with black patina. Height : 39 cm
